Tata Group has been a most important industrial business empire of India and any decision relating to its leadership positions makes headlines given the interest of large number of stakeholders. Recently the board of Tata sons passed a special resolution that the Chairman of Tata Sons and Tata Trusts cannot be the same person. This provision may also be the part of Article of Association of Tata Sons.

Further, Noel Tata had recently been inducted as a trustee on board of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust last, one of the two main Tata Trusts. The move is seen as part of succession planning in Tata Trusts, ensuring the continued association of the Tata family in the philanthropic body that controls the Tata Group.
