SEBI Chairman’s speech on ESG and related matters
SEBI chairman recently deliver a keynote address at the inauguration of “Arun Duggal ESG Centre for Research and Innovation - IIM Ahmedabad” on ESG and related matters. He expressed his views on growing importance of ESG factors in investor’s community across the global market and need for appropriate tools for ESG assessment and reporting. He also took attention towards record global issuance of sustainable debts. He highlighted outcomes from COP26 conference and India’s commitment & policy initiatives to achieve sustainable economic growth. He also counted the role of regulators around the world to the development of environment and climate risk management in the financial sector and to mobilize mainstream finance to support the transition toward a sustainable economy.
