SEBI introduced Rating Scale for Credit Rating Agencies
SEBI has introduced Expected Loss (EL) based ratings scale framework for the rating agencies. The scale is divided into seven levels, varying from ‘Lowest expected loss (EL 1)’ to Highest expected loss (EL 7)’. To begin with, the rating agencies will use the framework to rate projects and instruments associated with the infrastructure sector. Further, standardization of Rating scale is also implementing.
